Another Important Culture, a cross-cultural label, was established to cater to the sophisticated bohemian woman.
The collection is inspired by alternative beauty, finding balance within the contrasting worlds of San Francisco in the early 60's and a Russian circus in the 70's.
Manami Kobayashi, the designer, aimed to evoke this sophisticated paradox through her use of unbalanced colors and fabrics.
The ready to wear label has adopted handcrafting techniques such as knitting, crocheting and dying.
To accent the collection Kobayashi incorporated hand made detailing such as buttons, broaches and woven braids, which she discovered throughout her sourcing trips to India, Nepal, Indonesia, China and the United Kingdom, in order to distinguish their brand.
From ethnic coats to knit separates, Another Important Culture provides eclectic pieces that can be layered for a unique look.
A Bohemian influence is evident in their flowy tops and dresses with unique details such as fringe, embroidery, and print lining.
Fabrics range from paisley printed silks to graphic translucent cottons in this wearable collection.
